Note 1: 2014.01.19 — The Hopewell “yard” area beyond the end of main track designation is actually a sprawling tangle of tracks running into numerous heavy industries, in addition to a traditional storage yard. This includes a huge Honeywell plant, Rock-Tenn (formerly Smurfit-Stone Container), B.O.C. Industrial Gases, Commonwealth Industrial Services, Cogentrix James River Genco power plant, perhaps others that I don't know of; please tell me if so. Some of these industries have storage yards of their own. If you go to Hopewell, wear a gas mask!

Note 2: 2014.01.19 — The bucolic Bermuda Hundred spur diverges from the Thomas siding and runs underneath I-295 in the S-curve about midway between VA10/Hundred Road and the impressive Enon-Varina cable-stayed bridge over the Appomattox River. The B.H. spur serves the huge Philip Morris Park 500 plant and DuPont's Teijin films plant. I also found a disused spur on Google Satellite maps going up to R. M. Harrison Mechanical with the crossing gates and track still intact at Bermuda Hundred Road as of July 2013.
