Notes

Note 1: 2014.01.26 — The controlled siding between Snow and Harley off track #2 was added in late 2013 and completed in January 2014. It serves as an interchange track for CSX trash trains that come via the Amtrak connection from the A-line at BX and onto NS at Crater. Yard air compressors are installed at each end to maintain brake pressure and eliminate the need for an initial terminal brake test whenever an NS crew gets on the train. Curiously, installation of the switch at Snow was delayed by snow. Vern says, “Snow and Harley were turned over to the dispatcher around 12:30 today. First train east was a 934 around 13:43.”

Note 2: 2016.02.01 — The Virginia Division was folded into the Pocohontas Division by moving the Pokey's headquarters to Roanoke. Declining coal volume precipitated the consolidation.

Note 3: 2021.04.14 — The ACL diamond in Suffolk was removed on both mains in April, 2021. The remnant spur of the ACL that used to go to Rocky Mount via Tarrboro will be serviced by CSX via trackage rights.
