Note 1: The Florida, Gulf, & Atlantic Railroad was created by Gary Marino of RailAmerica fame to purchase the Tallahassee, P & A, and Bainbridge subdivisions from CSX in 2018. The sale was off-again-on-again, but completed in 2Q2019 with operations to begin Summer 2019. The Federal Register exemption notice explains in more goverment-ese detail.
Note 2: 2019.06.01 — The Florida, Georgia, and Atlantic Railroad chose to turn the tracks 90 degrees: north is now east while south is now west, which matches their compass bearings and breaks with the historical designations by the Seaboard Air Line.
